Verse 32-35

"I desire not victory, O Krishna! nor a kingdom, nor pleasures.
Of what avail can a kingdom be to us, or enjoyments, or even life,O Govinda?"
"Those, for whose sake we desire a kingdom, enjoyments and comforts
are here on the battlefield, having resigned their lives
and riches. "
"Teachers, uncles, sons, and likewise, grandfathers, maternal
uncles,
fathers-in-law, grandsons, brothers-in-law and other kinsmen. "
"O Madhusudan! though they may kill me I do not wish to kill sons of
Dratharastra
even for the kingdom of the three worlds, much less for this earthly kingdom.
"

Analysis:
Activity starts with flow of desires. Action begins when the heart feels the lack of something and the mind responds, or when the mind feels the lack of something, and the heart responds. Arjuna is caught between the power of love and the call of duty. He finds he cannot yield to either. He is in a state where the mind and the heart are high with their respective qualities, with no link between them. Both are contended in themselves. Neither feels the lack of anything and hence there exists no room for desires to arise. Under tension, a man feels like renouncing everything in life. Arjuna expresses not only indifference, but also aversion towards materialistic possessions, power, and even life.
Here Arjuna is devoid of any thought of self-interest. Living,
he wants to live for others; dying, he wants to die for others.
